About
Our Philosophy
We believe that people of all ages learn best when they construct the new learning themselves. We believe that knowledge gets planted the deepest and retained the longest when the learner effortfully catalogues the new information within their own personal collection of prior experiences. We believe that the dynamic performance skills in a variety of conditions and contexts, is more valuable than static knowledge of information. We believe that the role of a wise learning leader is not to lecture, but is rather to build the physical and psychological environment for learners to freely build themselves. We believe that the mark of a well-educated graduate is not the embossed certificate, but is rather the confidence to teach themselves new skills in new content areas in perpetuity.
Our Mission
Aboli Education trains professional educators to provide empowering, child-centered, developmentally-appropriate learning opportunities to their students through Constructivist methods and materials.
We seek to build and continually strengthen a supportive, worldwide community of thoughtful practitioners which achieves positive, life-enriching experiences for every child, in every school, everywhere.
Our Name
The Crossandra Infundibuliformis plant, in the Konani language known as aboli (abolim, abolli, abuli, abullim), is the state flower of Goa. The aboli shrub produces uniquely-shaped flowers with three to five asymmetrical petals in colors of orange, apricot, salmon pink, yellow or red. In warm, humid climates (like Goa) the aboli blooms all year round. The aboli is sometimes called the "firecracker flower" for its seed pods which "explode" seeds across the ground. Traditionally, every house in every quaint village of Goa used to have aboli flowers blooming at the front wall of the property. The aboli plant is our organization mascot because it is the official flower of Goa; because it is lush and productive all year round; and because the bursting of the seed pods spreading their message of life and joy is a beautiful metaphor for the Aboli Education mission.
Our Inspiration
Dr. Maria Montessori, 31 August 1870 - 06 May 1952
Dr. Montessori was a medical doctor and also studied the pedagogy of Education at the University of Rome.In 1907 fate intervened and she was offered the opportunity to study and work with children by the Beni Stabili group that was developing the slum area of San Lorenzo in Rome. It was the children of this first "Casa dei Bambini" or "House of Children" who shaped Dr. Montessori's idea and understanding of education. She came to realize that hope for the future of the child lay in their education. Through her many observations of children she came to the understanding that it is nature that guides the child. There is no method to educate him and that education needs to be child centric. She believed that we need to create conditions for his growth and welfare so that he may follow nature's plan for his development.

Cary is a researcher in the acquisition and mastery of compound-complex skills.
As a musician he conducted orchestras and coached instrumentalists to their peak performance skills. His work with performing artists and the administrative professionals with whom they come into regular contact (and regular conflict) led him to begin developing leadership in artists, artistry in leaders, and peak skills performance in everyone.
Cary's current work includes helping organization executives to discover and activate deep reservoirs of creativity and apply that creativity to revolutionize their core responsibilities. Likewise, he helps elite creative professionals build bridges to the administrative teams with whom they work.
